When I run XTM it says "COM1 Unavailable". Why?

Only one EPOC32 program can access the serial port at once. This message means another program was already using the serial port when XTM tried to open it. The most likely culprit is the desktop link program - if you want to access the serial port in XTM on a Psion machine you must turn off the remote link from the system screen Tools menu before running XTM. Nokia users will find that there is no such menu option, and at the moment XTM can't access the serial port - we are working on a solution for this restriction. Geofox-One users who want to use a PC card as COM2 should insert the card before they start XTM.

Once XTM has found the interface to be busy, it will not go back and try to open the COM ports later. You must either exit and restart XTM, or select Comms Configuration on the XTM Tools menu if you want to change the COM port configuration.
