Are you going to provide an EGA or VGA display?

No. The EGA and VGA interfaces have hardware registers that are very difficult to emulate in our environment without a significant performance penalty. The MCGA interface that we provide is a subset of VGA, and supports all the CGA modes, plus the most popular display mode for DOS games - 320 x 200 x 256 colours.
